Hair loss is a physiological process that is present in everyone’s life at various stages of life. Every day we lose hair and every day new hair starts to grow on our skin. We can talk about baldness only in the case of excessive hair loss.
Excessive hair loss may result from a genetic predisposition or from environmental factors. The first group includes androgenetic alopecia, which is undoubtedly the most common type of hair loss. Examples of diseases in the second group are drug-induced alopecia or alopecia resulting from exposure to toxic chemicals.
There are many diseases in which alopecia is primary, i.e. the hair follicle is mainly attacked by the disease process. Sometimes we observe secondary alopecia, in which the hair follicles are somehow “drawn” into the disease process, which may primarily affect other skin structures.
What is trichoscopy?
In order to find out what is the cause of hair loss, Dr Stachura Clinic introduced trichoscopic examinations. Trichoscopy allows for effective diagnosis of the causes of excessive hair loss and monitoring of the course of treatment. Trichoscopy is a precise computer analysis of trichoscopic images made possible thanks to the cooperation of Dr. Stachura Clinic and the TrichoLab laboratory. After receiving the test results, our specialists can choose the appropriate treatment method.
At the Dr. Stachura Clinic, trichoscopic examinations are performed by:
